This was my first introduction to Jodi Picoult. Very readable. There were several moments that hit close to home... the mother daughter relationship is one that might speak to many adult daughters out there. Surely the fears of new motherhood will find an audience. It is one of those books I'll think back to years from now.

This is a terrific resource for anyone who interacts with children. The "terrible" thing that happened isn't explicitly named within the book, giving kids the freedom to relate their own experiences to the text. Good for natural disasters, death of a pet or person, separation...
