Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Henry & The Buccaneer Bunnies

Bunnies Ahoy! This is a clever book about a bunny buccaneer who doesn't care to do piratey things aboard his father's ship, the Salty Carrot. What he does love are books! His father may not care for his landlubbin' past time, but it sure comes in handy when trouble strikes! With fun pirate phrases and colorful, attention grabbing pictures, this book is great for older toddlers on up!

Over in the Meadow

I LOVE Child's Play International's die cut books! My son (and the toddlers I teach) love to anticipate what's coming next, and even "predict" the next event in the book (great pre-reading skills!). I particularly like "Over in the Meadow" because it introduces numbers and animals that kids usually don't see every day (otters, toads, lizards etc.). The pictures are fun to interact with, simple and enjoyable, and the stories are usually classic songs. I would highly recommend all of the Child's Play books. Enjoy!
