Days on the Road Crossing the Plains in 1865 The Diary of Sarah Raymond Herndon
by
Sarah Raymo Herndon
Zelda
, March 17, 2010
As she records every moment of her family's overland journey, Sarah's attention to detail is impeccable. Her vivid descriptions of the plains, prairies, rivers and even daily chores are captivating. This book is a must for anyone looking for a glimpse into the 19th Century overland experience. It's a treasure to find a diary with so much incredible detail. The pages turn themselves.

Year of Wonders
by
Geraldine Brooks

Year of Wonders is spectacular to say the least. Both Brooks' insight and imagination are on display and prove remarkable as the horror of the times come alive. This book certainly exceeded my expectations and made a lasting impression.
