Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

The Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1)

The Alchemyst is a book full of fantasy. I suggest that people who are in to reading Harry Potter to read this book. It's adventurous, full of suspense, and mysteries while trying to escape from the clutches of "villians" that want to become immortal and destroy the world. Although this book is fantasized, it can reflect human minds today about how immortality is sometimes not a good thing and sometimes, there can be advantages. Reading this book will be one of the greatest thoughts and reflections of human world today compared to the one in the book. So pick up a copy and start reading.

Twilight: Twilight 1
by

In my opinion, Twilight is an amazing book for young adults and fully grown adults might want to take a "bite" in this adventurous first novel of the saga, too! It is full of romance, adventure, and mystery to find more about the characters and the plot which can hardly ever make you want to put the book down. This book makes you stay alive and thirsty for the REST of the Twilight Saga. It relates us to how life is like in our teenage years no matter if we are past our teenage years, still in our teenage years, or maybe not even at the teenage years yet, but this book will keep us reading non-stop. It partly teaches us a lesson where you can still be in love with someone even if they aren't human like a vampire! This book is just fantastic! People that don't like reading would start like reading after reading this book. A thumbs up for Twilight!

Twilight 03 Eclipse
by
Stephenie Meyer

To be honest, I never read THIS particular book from the series myself since I'm still at the beginning of the Twilight Saga and moving along the way. It is a REALLY popular book and at school, I have seen MOST of my friends reading Eclipse and people at department and book stores begging their parents to buy books from the series like Eclipse. I have heard that Eclipse is the BEST in the whole series mainly because of the storyline and what happens. It isn't the beginning nor the end and the plots are exciting which makes this book the best book of the series. My friends had spoiled it for me, so I really do not want to spoil it now. All I can say is that they told me how good this book is! Happy reading everyone!
