For me, this series is the grown-up fix for lovers of Nancy Drew. The English heroine is intelligent, independent, and inspiring. I learn such interesting background information about WWI and the years following--the effects on England and its people. The author has done her research and encouraged some of my own. Maisie and a cup of tea are a perfect way to spend an afternoon.

This fascinating book about books will prepare any traveller (armchair or real) with a list of books about all areas of the globe. I have chosen 65 books representing various geographical areas as my reading list for the the year. Nancy Pearl has done her homework, and you are the lucky benefactor of her book reviews.
