Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Completely enjoyable! The princes aren't what they seem, and neither are the princesses! I loved this book. It moves slow at first, but it really lets you know where the "Prince Charmings" (or Princes Charming as they would say since charming cannot be plural) are coming from. How dare the bards leave out their names? Hilarity ensues, when they all go on their own adventures. I just bought it, but I've already reread it twice.

I loved this book! I find the use of Egyptian magic fascinating and would highly recommend this book to young girls who are too clever and women who need a fresh read.

When my older sister saw this at Powell's, she immediately bought it for me. Being anti-Twilight, I absolutely loved it. My sister and I read it out-loud to each other in one day between fits of giggles and tumbling off of the bed from lack of constant air. Belle Goose actually had thoughts, although some were quite insane and weird, but still hilarious. It was quite an improvement over Bella's character from Twilight since all she really thought about was Edward and the "wonderful" love they had. Also I loved Edwart because he had many flaws while Edward doesn't seem to have any. Edwart's piano playing made me laugh for five minutes, and another five when Belle discovered his self-recordings lining his room. The characters had a lot more depth than the original Twilight and I really looked forward to that. Belle grew from her experiences and Edwart tried to change his own faults for his love of Belle. It was really refreshing to finally see that people who have a strong dislike of Twilight write a book about it showing that people who can actually write can still get published. I would highly recommend this book to any anti and for anyone who is on the fence about Twilight. I loved this book.

I absolutely LOVED this book and I'm an adult! The writing was witty and charming, I was never bored! Grammar teachers would love this book as well as kids. I highly recommend this book for a refreshing read.
