Together Forever: The Story about the Magician Who Didn't Want to Be Alone
by
Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, May 19, 2011
What a lovely and delightful book aimed at children and their caregivers. Kabbalistic concepts, without ever using the term Kabbalah, are woven throughout a fable about a sad and lonely magician searching for a true friend. The artwork is wonderfully evocative, the various page borders and text colours are lively, the layout of the text and artwork is visually appealing, and the story itself is truly delightful.

Basic Concepts in Kabbalah
by
Rav Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, May 19, 2011
I started this book with eager anticipation hoping for a clear and concise list of Kabbalah's basic concepts. While there is a chapter towards the end of the book devoted specifically to this, I found the mix of simple language and complex concepts used throughout the book didn't really meet the needs of either the beginner to Kabbalah studies or the advanced student. While the language was simplified for beginners, the concepts and terminology were not adequately addressed to provide a solid understanding to a beginner. On the other hand, the concepts familiar to advanced students were presented in such a basic manner that meaningful nuances were not available to the reader at all. Overall, my expectations based on the title were not met, leaving me with a sense of disappointment.

Kabbalah Revealed: The Ordinary Person's Guide to a More Peaceful Life
by
Rav Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, March 26, 2011
This is a beautiful introduction to authentic Kabbalah. Written in a conversational style that gives the reader the sense that they are speaking one-to-one with Rav Laitman, one is clearly and gently led through big concepts in a totally approachable manner. Each chapter walks the reader through an ever-increasing personal awareness of self and humanity - how we arrived at where we are and our choices going forward. "In A Nutshell" at the end of each chapter gives a succinct summary of the salient points and taken all together they form a cogent plan for personal and collective attainment of spirituality.

Kabbalah for Beginners
by
Laitman, Michael
Patty Breton
, March 26, 2011
This is a great introduction to authentic Kabbalah and is an expanded version of Kabbalah Revealed, also by Rav Laitman. Starting with the History of Kabbalah and highlights of some the greatest teachers of Kabbalah, this book continues with an easy-to-understand explanation of the wisdom of Kabbalah and an interesting discussion about reality, and concludes with a section called Crisis and Correction. At the end of the book is a section on Frequently Asked Questions about Kabblaah which is also worth exploring. The writing is clear, conversational, and flows easily. Interspersed throughout the book are numerous quotes from renowned Kabbalists that further expound on the topic at hand. I found this a thoroughly enjoyable read and would recommend it to anyone exploring authentic Kabbalah.

Kabbalah, Science and the Meaning of Life: Because Your Life Has Meaning
by
Rav Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, January 12, 2011
Early on in this book one finds a startlingly clear description of the differences between Kabbalah and quantum physics through a conversation between Dr. Jeffrey Satinover, MS, MD and Michael Laitman, PhD . Laitman then continues to lead the reader through the Essence of the Wisdom of Kabbalah, the Perception of Reality and finally Realizing the Spiritual Gene. This book is well-written, thought-provoking, and a great combination of science and spirituality. The Glossary of Kabbalistic Terms at the back of the book is excellent, providing a solid foundation to readers at all levels.

Complete Idiots Guide To Kabbalah
by
Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, January 12, 2011
I have a personal aversion to negative titles, so it was with some serious trepidation on my part that I even opened this book. I have been studying Kabbalah for almost a decade and certainly didn't feel I was part of this book's target audience. Much to my shock and amazement, I was very impressed with how the authors combined their knowledge to produce a truly informative and easily accessible approach to authentic Kabbalah. Peppered throughout the text are sidebars such as "Kab-Trivia, On Track, def-i-ni-tion, Red Alert, and Word of Heart" which I found more helpful than distracting. And the Glossary at the end of the book is very clear and easy to understand. So, whether this title resonates with you or not, it's well worth your time. In my case, this was definitely a "Don't judge a book by its cover" situation.

by
Laitman, Rav Michael
Patty Breton
, November 26, 2010
I found this book generated a real variety of emotions as I read it. I ranged through being inspired, frustrated, encouraged, connected, disconnected, passionate, confused, etc. Most of the time I was in agreement with what I was reading and occasionally I was in complete disagreement. Ultimately I was intrigued, fascinated and left wanting even more. This book truly challenged me to become a better person.

Awakening to Kabbalah The Guiding Light of Spiritual Fulfillment
by
Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, August 31, 2010
This is a great book for those curious about what authentic Kabbalah is and is not. True to its title, this book is an awakening to Kabbalah versus a book to be studied. This book provides a solid overview of key Kabbalists throughout the ages, why now is the time to study Kabbalah, and what one can reasonably expect from one's own study of this ancient wisdom.

Kabbalah for the Student
by
Rav Yehuda Ashlag and Rav Baruch Ashalg
Patty Breton
, March 12, 2010
This book is a true treasure of authentic Kabbalah wisdom. The bulk of the articles are written by Rav Yehuda Ashlag and his son Rav Baruch Ashlag and they are arranged under five major headings but can be read and studied in any order. I have a personal preference for studying the material starting at the beginning of the book and working my way through it. I found that my understanding of Kabbalistic concepts was continuously reinforced and expanded upon as I ventured further into this incredible book. I can literally lose all awareness of my external surroundings and daily concerns while engaged in these writings. To assist with the deeper articles, at the back of the book is an extensive Glossary and over 40 pages of detailed diagrams provided as references to many of the more advanced Kabbalistic concepts. This book is an invaluable source of authentic Kabbalistic writings and as such is an integral component of on-line Kabbalah courses offered by Bnei Baruch. For anyone interested in studying The Zohar (the seminal book of authentic Kabbalistic wisdom), Kabbalah for the Student is a must. This book will provide you with a solid foundation of Kabbalistic terminology and concepts and is the key to unlocking the timeless wisdom found in The Zohar.

Shamati I Heard
by
Yehudah Ashlag
Patty Breton
, November 26, 2009
Shamati (I Heard) is a unique and fascinating glimpse into the legacy of the greatest modern Kabbalist who fervently believed that the time had come to share the wisdom of Kabbalah with the entire world. The bulk of these selections are from the period of time during which Rav Yehuda Ashlag, (Baal HaSulam), was completing his seminal work on the Commentary to The Book of Zohar. Shamati has a sense of intimate connection to the author. It is as though we have been invited into Baal HaSulam’s home and he has just chosen to share with us the deeper meaning of a specific phrase or concept from a Kabbalistic perspective. Each selection generates the feeling of being the precise person for whom these words are intended resulting in a deep, open, vulnerable, inclusive, joyful connection to All-That-Is.

The Zohar: Annotations to the Ashlag Commentary
by
Rav Michael Laitman
Patty Breton
, August 26, 2009
This book is a must for any serious student of Kabbalah interested in delving into the mysteries of the ancient Kabbalistic volumes of The Book of Zohar. The Book of Zohar was written by Rabbi Shimon Bar-Yochai in the second century CE. In the 1930s-40s, Rabbi Yehuda Ashlag wrote an extensive commentary on The Book of Zohar called HaSulam (The Ladder) and suddenly the wisdom of Kabbalah contained in The Book of Zohar became more accessible to us. Michael Laitman, in The Zohar, has taken the Ashlag commentary and provided us with an in-depth understanding of the first "book" in The Book of Zohar with 'The Introduction of the Book of Zohar.' This seminal Kabbalistic text is written in a form of "code" and is difficult to understand without assistance from a Kabbalist. Laitman explains in current English the various terms, names, titles and abbreviations that appear throughout The Book of Zohar. He then provides an English translation from the original Aramaic to each paragraph followed by a blending of Ashlag's commentary on the text and his own detailed explanations before moving on to the next paragraph. The Zohar is an incredible gift to humanity at this point in our collective evolution and Laitman has opened the doors wide for us to access the wisdom of Kabbalah. Laitman provides us with clear understandings of concepts occurring throughout The Book of Zohar, such as Partzufim, Sefirot, Worlds, perceived Lights, concealment, revelation, Kelim, reception, bestowal and many more. The Zohar is a book to be savored slowly, each taste of it deepening the desire for more. This book is an essential addition to the library of any serious student of Kabbalah.
