Exile legend Of Drizzt 02
by
R A Salvatore

After Homeland the first of the Legend Of Drizzt series comes this Exile. I have read many Exile stories, and I seem to always compare them to this book. After Drizzts schooling, and living in the city of the drow he finds himself in the tunnels of the underdark that lies under fearun, and the cities it holds. In the underdark its lightless tunnels filled with peril at every step. Drizzts skills as a hunter, and warrior are pushed to the limit as he tries to survive with nothing but his panther Gwen at his side. A run in with his evil family sent to bring him back to the city for sacrifice he takes his trail further towards the "surface" where Drow are not welcome, and light of day will burn Drizzts eyes. You will see how far Drizzt is willing to go to forget his past in the evil world that is the Drow. Follow this one with Sojourn the 3rd novel in the Drizzt series while he makes it to the surface, and if the underdark was hard this has many more obstacles for him to overcome.

Homeland The legend of Drizzt Do'urden begins in the norious city of the drow/dark elves Menzoberizan where a young dark elf with striking lavender eyes is born into a city and race of treachery, deciet, and death for any elf who turns his, or her back even on there own family. As Drizzt grows up among the society ruled by the priestesses of Lolth the spider queen god of chaos he finds himself questioning his morale which is just being born for their are no morals among the drow. He starts training as a warrior with his teacher who has a past connected to drizzts in ways. There are over 20 novels in the legend of drizzt and this one of the greatest entrances to any series ive read before. If your a fan of forgotten realms, or just starting to learn about it the legend of drizzt will bring you into the history, and cultures of various realms and lands in the forgotten realms world.

The Mists of Avalon

This version of the King Arthur legend is through the eyes of the people of the throne, while reading this book I was often shocked by the vivid pictures it presented, everything is detailed by not over-so like many tales of Arthur. It focuses a lot on the deciet, and treachery that beheld the kingdom while living the rise of a great king. If you were ever intrigued by Arthurian tales but thought they would be lame, or boring compared to other fantasies this the BIG EXCeption to that.

Blade Runner: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

If there ever was a novel that could bring you into a world so like our own in some ways but greatly different in others its BladeRunner. If youve seen the film do not try to keeep that in your mind while trying to read this, although his has many obvious similarities to the film the book follows much more precisley to each characters personality, and emotional focus. Dark, post apocolyptic cities, and androids disguised to avoid the bounty hunter make this a must read novel for any fans of sci fi, and the dark fantasy genre.

If youve seen the movie pick this up! it brings you much deeper than the film can, and the writing is very contemporary. I have suggested this many of friends and the ones who picked it up agreed that anyone could love this story. Sci fi meets old legends

jeters bounty hunters volumes is one of the most compelling, and readable star wars series to this day. The characters are sharp and exppressive to dark and aggressive. Even if your not a star wars fan pick this up youll enjoy it the whole way through.(not centered around jedis the whole time)
