I loved it! I am not usually a fan of non-fiction, but this was the selection for our book club. It read like a novel. If you like sports stories like Hoosiers, Glory Road, Rudy and the like, you will love this book. The characters are rich and real.

This is a great series. I have a seven-year old son and he is enthralled. There is enough action and adventure to hold his interest, but enough factual information to allow me to feel as if he is learning something. Reading the second in the series yesterday launched us into a discussion about what historical fiction means. He is now able to identify the genre in many books and movies. I heartily recommend.
