Paint The Wind

Our nine year old received this for her birthday in February and read it three times in the first month. She said I had to absolutely had to read it and she was right. It's a great story that captures the spirits of young girls and horses both. As a father, I connected with my daughter's love of horses and the author's portrayal and exploration of how events are perceived can result in choices and actions that, while motivated by love, may not be loving.

This was a great bedtime read for me and the girls (8,5 and 3)! From the Cheeses, to the Cabbageheads, Boxtrolls and rats, we loved the imaginative and personable creatures and characters. The illustrations added a lot of fun as we made our way through the story. It is a long book and there are moments of peril, so you may, like me, end up reading with a full lap.

This is a great book for working on your drawing skills. Christopher Hart uses easy to follow directions and nice examples to keep up the interest in putting pencil to paper which is really the key to getting better.
