The Kind Worth Killing

Seriously, who doesn't enjoy a story about a few good sociopaths? This was awesome. The plot twists and turns had me shaking my head and trying (and failing) to guess the author's next move. I'll tell you NOTHING about this book but that it is a good one. A thriller, edge of your seat, not knowing where to turn next kind of book. Odd how every character in this book seriously had psychopathic tendencies - especially our protagonist, Lilly. Yet, I still found myself quietly rooting for her. The story is told chapter-by-chapter from the point of view of each character and the voice is easy to follow. This is just a great, great book.

Georgiana Darcy's Diary: Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice Continued

This was a surprisingly great book. I picked it up and it sat for over four months until I had a spare moment to read it. I'm actually sorry it took me so long. I loved this. The author does a great job in keeping with Austen's already wonderfully written characters. I loved the story. You'll learn a lot more about Georgiana - and see her grow into a lovable heroine. You'll see that Elizabeth hasn't changed a bit, but Darcy has. Truly a great companion to "Pride and Prejudice." I can't wait to read the second book in the chronicles. Read this!!!

This Is Gonna Hurt
by
Nikki Sixx

Nikki Sixx is amazing - and you don't even have to like his music. In order to appreciate this book, however, I would recommend a tad interest in the macabre. Sixx's photographs are disturbing, deep, and thought provoking. My favorite thing about this collection? The fact that it made me see beauty where I might have missed it. It's opened my eyes, not just while looking at his book, but in the world, as well. I see beauty in people and things I may not have opened my mind to before. I would think that's EXACTLY what a collection of photographs should do.

Dear Zoe
by
Philip Beard

This book was, to put it simply, beautiful. It's everything a good novel should be: meaningful, poignant, touching. I picked up this book on a whim because it takes place in Pittsburgh, a city I love. I consider myself LUCKY for having found it. A lot of authors are attempting and have attempted to write stories around the tragedy of 9/11/01. Beard did it very well. To put it simply again, read this book.
