I am supposing this will be a very good book, based on "Burning Bright," which was my introduction to Peter Ash. This was such a page-turner that I'm happy to pre-order another book by Petrie.

Envy The Night

This book is a thriller from almost the first page. It's different from most thrillers because the protagonist has set out on a vendetta, vowing to kill someone he believes had betrayed his father. At the same time, he gets in the way of some real gangsters, who are after somebody else. The story moves from one cliff edge to another throughout. There's a subtle love interest of a different type, too. A young woman gets sucked into helping the protagonist, after he gets her out of a tight spot. She is tough enough to operate her father's auto garage, while still encouraging her father to recover and come back to the garage, even though she knows it's hopeless.
