This family saga of the rich and privileged is more than just a thrilling ride into the moneyed world of scandal and deceit. The writing is clever and the characters are varied and well-drawn. A literary guilty pleasure!

This is a very disturbing book on one level as it basically deals with husbands fantasizing about killing their wives. However, the subject is not dealt with as gruesomely as one would think. Rather, the characters are all intriguing, the premise is so original and the writing is so fantastic that you forget that the subject matter is rather grisly. I loved the fact that I never knew exactly whether or not a particular husband was actually responsible for a particular wife's death and the unknowing kept me turning pages. This is such a fresh book and I can guarantee that you have never read anything like it.
