This novel was such an unexpected gem. I picked it up on a whim expecting an enjoyable read, but it ended up being so much more. I was instantly riveted by this beautiful, incredibly moving story. Ann Aguirre writes with a grace and delicacy that few can equal. This is not simply a romance. It's also about guilt, forgiveness, courage, and compassion. It's about overcoming terrifying darkness with the most beautiful light. It is, in a word, unforgettable.

This book had me absolutely riveted from start to finish. What a beautiful, terrifying, sweeping epic of a novel. This is storytelling on a grand scale. It's most definitely worthy of all the buzz I have been hearing about it. I think this book marks the beginning of a stellar career for debut novelist Sabaa Tahir. I will be counting the days until book two comes out.

This beautiful book found its way into my heart so quickly. I was instantly captivated by this deeply moving story--it pulled me in and held me spellbound until the final page. It's not just a love story; it's also about grief, forgiveness, second chances, and living life to the fullest. Inspiring, beautiful, and romantic. I'm telling everyone I know to read this book.
