An excellent follow up to The Name of the Wind. The story is engrossing and the characters are well developed and the author has put so much thought into every bit of text that it flows like a fireside story with all the perfect nuances and inflections a good storyteller weaves in.

This isn't only my favorite book of the decade, but it is in my top five favorites of all time. It has everything: terrific characters, history, adventure, mystery, humor, romance and a touch of magic. I read it and all the current sequels every year and it never fails to drag me in and take me away. I've owned many copies and had to keep buying as those I 'lend' it to lend it to others or refuse to give it back.

Dreamdark 02 Silksinger

Silksinger is a beautiful story; full of fierce and wonderful faeries fighting for what they believe in, dangerous and terrible characters, characters who through ignorance or bravado make matters much worse, and a setting that is both fully realized and fuzzy around the edges as all good faerie stories should be. Read along and root for Whisper, Hirik and Magpie Windwitch while booing and hissing at the evildoers who only care about their own comforts.
