Sister of My Heart is now one of my favorite books. Set in India, it follows two girls through their childhood into their adulthood and marriage. It's written beautifully, and I couldn't put the book down! It's such an interesting story of relationships between women, and it's full of joy, laughter, heartache, tears, and surprises. I definitely recommend it!

Ransom

Ransom is a lesser-known novel about the Trojan war. It's of just a small amount of time during the fighting, following Priam and Achilles as Priam asks for Hector's body back. The story is beautiful and poetically written. It's a short read as well, but long enough to get you caring about the characters in the novel. Definitely worth the read!!

I was pleasantly surprised at this wonderful first book in Kristin Cashore's series! The world she creates is so unique and original; I loved every second of it. I definitely recommend this book, and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

This is a fabulous book. David Malouf has perfected the art of storytelling, and this is abundantly clear in Ransom, the story of how Achilles and Priam meet because of the death of someone they cared about. I love this brief glimpse of the Trojan war!

Girl Who Fell from the Sky
by

This book is absolutely beautiful. Heidi Durrow's prose is excellent as she slowly pulls the reader through the stream of her story, adding unexpected twists as she goes along. The Girl Who Fell from the Sky is short, yet perfect in length to tell Rachel's story.
