"But time . . . how time first grounds us and then confounds us. We thought we were being mature when we were only being safe. We imagined we were being responsible but were only being cowardly. What we called realism turned out to be a way of avoiding things . . . Time . . . give us enough time and our best-supported decisions will seem wobbly, our certainties whimsical." Marvelously well-written, thought-provoking, if not mind-bending, and best of all as true as true can be.

A terrific story that I could not put down. Although very much in the modernist tradition with the 'unexpected' becoming almost expected at every turn of the page, nonetheless, the narrative remained clear and compelling throughout. It also contained a heady mixture of irreverence and sweetness that I found delicious.
