very amusing book - even made me laugh out loud at points. It took me a little while to figure out the format (emails & letters collected after the fact), but this is a very cleverly written book!

I thought this was a very uplifting read. Really speaks to the value of not judging someone's life by his/her appearance.

Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life

Karen Armstrong has given us an intelligent, accessible, well-written book about the meaning of compassion and how to use these practical, instructive ACTIONS to become more compassionate and to create a more loving, just, and compassionate world. If we can all be as committed to DOING the 12 Steps as we are at reading about them, the world will be transformed. I suppose I should start with myself. Thank you, Karen Armstrong!
