Girl in the Garden
by
Kamala Nair

Surrounded by lies, secrets, mystery, set in lavish India, this book is just amazing! The main character Rakhee uncovers the secrets of her mother's family and puts together the links. When one secret surfaces, another one is waiting around the corner and that is what I love about this book. Nair keeps the reader wondering what will happen next with her wonderful writing. If you enjoyed The Secret Garden, this book has the same feel.

Pearl in the Sand

One of those genres of books I thought I would never read, but when I borrowed it from a friend I had to get my own copy. This book is the story of Canaanite harlot Rahab who struggles with the troubles of her past. Finding herself conversing with the leaders of Israel and living with their people, it is a biblical story of finding worth after rejection. Tessa Afshar writes it beautifully. I will definitely be reading more books from her in the future.

History of Iran Empire of the Mind
by
Michael Axworthy

This was a book assigned as a textbook for a college course but by the end of it, I decided to keep it. An easy read, this book makes the history of Iran understandable. Axworthy explains in simple language the history of a very complicated nation with little to no political agenda. It credits Iran/Persia with things it has done and more importantly it sheds light on some unknown and un-touched corners of the modern Iranian history.

Heretic Queen
by
Michelle Moran

Michelle Moran is one of my favorite authors and this 'The Heretic Queen' has to be my favorite book by her. This is the story of Nefertari, the niece of the infamous Queen Nefertiti. Though an unimportant princess, Nefertari is taken under the wing of the Pharoah's sister and is made into the perfect image of a future Queen of Egypt. None other than that, she catches the eye of the Crown Prince, sending waves of jealousy to those against Nefertari. Plotting, scheming, palace intrigue, battles all in the setting of ancient Egypt, 'The Heretic Queen' gives us insight in the lives of a powerful Egyptian family.

Kissed By an Angel 06 Everafter
by

Being the last book in the 'Kissed by an Angel' series, I was very excited for this book. Going through Tristan and Ivy's story of how to stay together while fighting off people who will do anything to cover their name has been a roller coaster ride. With twists and turns, Chandler puts the same suspense in this book. A good read for anyone who likes thrillers.

Tiger Saga 01 Tigers Curse
by

This book sits at the top shelf in my favorites collection and has been read multiple times. Along with the romance there is adventure and some suspense that has you wanting more. Set in the beautiful backdrop of India, Tiger's Curse introduces the reader to Kelsey, a simple normal girl who finds herself on an extraordinary adventure! You will not be sorry picking up this book. And the best part is that this is 1 of 4 books...with a 5th on the way (2014/2015 I believe).

Nefertiti
by
Michelle Moran

Michelle Moran is one of my favorite authors because her books on Ancient Egypt have got to be the best I've ever read. I do feel like the title is misleading because the book comes from the view point of Nefertiti's sister, Mutnodjmet. However, I can't call myself a professor of this time period, I feel that Moran really did her homework in researching for this book.

Kissed by an Angel Collection 01 Kissed by an Angel The Power of Love Soulmates

This is a really great book. It has suspense, romance...it kept me reading late into the night because I didn't want to put it down. It's one of those "Who done it?" books and it keeps you guessing. I've shown this book to 2 of my friends and they love just as much as I do. And the fact that there are 2 sequels after (Evercrossed, Everlasting) and the final book (Everafter) coming out in 2013 makes it all the better.

This has got to be my favorite series right now! I have never been so excited about a book coming out. The cover caught my eye and now I'm in love with the characters. I would highly recommend reading the series and I know this 4th book will not disappoint.
