Die Again Rizzoli & Isles
by
Tess Gerritsen

I have read all of Tess Gerritsen's books and was excited when her new book was released. I started reading it right away and I finished the following day. This was one of her best books and most exciting reads (I would rate it as high as The Surgeon). This story is told from two points of view, one of Millie from Africa and one of the police investigation in Boston. Usually when this happens, I find myself enjoying one story line better than the other and looking forward to getting back to the one I like better. Not so in this case, both story lines were equally intriguing and fascinating. The two story lines, of course, are intricately linked with crossovers bringing Rizzoli to Africa and Millie to Boston. There appears to have been a lot of research for this book, with much information on "big cats" and their behaviors. This is a fast paced fabulous book that kept me guessing until the end. This is Gerritsen at her best. Well done!

Girl On The Train British edition
by
Paula Hawkins

This book grabbed me from the beginning and did not let go. I could not stop reading it; stayed up half the night. It is a psychological thriller filled with twists and turns. It shows the inter-workings of the mind, how it can play tricks on you, and how fragile it can be to those who are not necessarily happy with themselves. The Girl on the Train has been touted to be the next Gone Girl. While it is similar in that it is a psychological thriller, I found it to be an even more fast-paced and exciting read. Both have twisted characters, but the protagonist of this book is one you can feel sorry for with the hopes that she can sort out her life. This is a must read for anyone who loves a thriller.
