GEORGE is a wonderful debut! This novel is told in a simple, yet emotional and compelling way. This is one of the most important books you will read in your life. It is a marvelous story and I'm so happy it exists for the kids (and adults) who need it, it will change lives. Alex Gino knocked it out of the park with this one.

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda

One of my favorite books of 2015, and of all time. SIMON was the right amounts of funny and heartfelt, every time I think about this book I want to simultaneously hug it to my chest and throw it at people's faces (for them to read it okay). SIMON VS. is a work of pure sunshine and joy. What an amazing read! After I finished it I kept smiling for days afterward and recommending it to everyone I knew. I think this is exactly what LGBTQAI+ kids need: a HAPPY LOVE STORY. It serves as a good reminder of the fact that LGBTQAI+ people can be happy and can have awesome stories too. This novel doesn't fall into cliches, and it delivers a charming and fun book with well rounded characters. This is a book about letting your true self shine, where love and friendship take the front seat. This is one of those books that I will keep re-reading for the rest of my life I'm sure.

Pantomime

This book surprised me. At first it was just "an okay read" for me because it felt slow and the worldbuilding was very confusing. But when it finally picked up its pace, I found myself loving it. The world building keeps on developing towards the end, and you start understanding a lot more. The circus setting is fantastic, and the characters too. Not only is the story incredibly interesting but the way Laura Lam treats the themes of gender and sexuality deserves an award (and she won one ha). Give this little gem a chance, maybe you'll fall in love with it too.

Beautiful Music for Ugly Children

Fantastic read! “Whoever you are, you're plenty.” I absolutely LOVED this book. It was SO easy to connect to Gabe, he was so easy to like. The minute I started reading I was hooked and I wanted to know everything that was going to happen. I LOVED his relationship with Paige, how things evolved with his family, his relationship with John, and his dating woes (the author could have gone in a entirely different way and she didn't, Gabe was just a typical teenager who happened to be trans). Overall, this book was beautiful, honest, raw and so important. More people should read it, I'd definitely recommend it!
