Blasphemy New & Selected Stories
by
Sherman Alexie
sgeorge24
, January 01, 2013
Sherman Alexie writes with an honest, gritty and humorous attitude. His writing reminds me of Jim Carroll's The Basketball Diaries with his street-wise observations (and many references to basketball). The stories are so real, yet surreal in the details that you can't believe anyone could make up.

1Q84

Haruki Murakami, Jay Rubin, Philip Gabriel

Reading this book is like dreaming while awake. Murakami is gifted at reeling in the reader to his dreamworld, where stories are woven together cleverly. Once you start reading 1Q84, you won't want to stop!

Architectural Guidebook To Portland 1st Edition
by
Bart King
sgeorge24
, August 31, 2011
This book has far more information than you would think for a book its size. Bart King delivers facts about Portland's old and new buildings with an entertaining sense of humor. Just reading the book is like a walking tour of the whole city. But even better...bring the book on a real tour of the interesting architectural wonders of Portland!
