The rare book in which I like and respect most of the characters, even the movie star. A fascinating story, with several lives and stories woven deftly together, The best read I've had in a while!

Every time I re-read it I get more out of it. Big, important, urgent themes set in a really compelling story. Characters like people you'd love to know, and wonderful dialogue. The main character, a mom of young kids, says when asked if she thinks someone is crazy, "How would I know? I spend my days with people who want to eat thumbtacks off the floor." And the story unfolds so beautifully, full of passion, romance, and drama. The characters transform in believable yet amazing ways.
