The characters were great in this story. From park warden Hazel to firefighter Mitchell, you can't help but hope they find her son, lost in the Canadian Rockies. The problem is, someone else is determined to keep the boy away from Hazel ... or was it to get to Hazel after all. The non-stop action kept me glued to the book and I finished it that day. The family dynamics melted my heart. It was a well rounded romantic suspense giving you both of those in the proper amount to keep your interest. I highly recommend this book! Not Your Shoe Size: A Novel About Acting Your Age (or not)
by
Jennifer Divita

What a funny read as we walk through the years of friendship between two ladies. Some of us can relate to those stages of life that are mentioned in the book. The women's personalities are so polar opposite, yet they bring out the best of each other. Love this debut book and the humor brought through its pages as we all deal with aging - might as well have a giggle or two. Another riveting book in the Extreme Measures Series. This final book is about Raina, the flight paramedic and US Marshal Vincent Covelli. I loved the non-stop action and supreme intensity of the scenes. The plot kept me guessing and I enjoyed the test to see if I could figure out what was coming next and who was behind all the evil. A book that keeps my attention well enough to keep me from putting it down before it's done is what I long. This one receives two thumbs as I finished it the day I received it. Highly recommend this book and the series it is part of. Great reads. Disclaimer: I received this book from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group, with no expectations in return. The Best Summer of Our Lives
by
Rachel Hauck

n interesting story using a parallel timeline using four best friends. They go through a summer of various struggles the summer after graduation. They've had the motto all for one and one for all and have lived their lives as four best friends for years. The parallel of the twenty year gap sees how that summer of 1977 changed all four of them in ways you wonder if they will grow stronger or grow apart. Well done. I enjoyed reading this story so much. I pictured the setting and could see the old home Ms. Minerva lived in. I appreciated both the great description of the world in which she lived as well as the hardships she endured throughout her life. A realistic tale of keeping a promise made, but the turmoil it brought at times. Recommend this book, for sure. I've enjoyed reading this book. From my own minor health issues to my daughter recently diagnosed with MS, this book was a sources of encouragement for me. While it obviously didn't cure me, it sure lightened my heart. Some days I want to look at the "what I can't do" instead of leaning into the "yes, but look what I can still do." I recommend this book for yourself if you are going through lingering health issues or for sure to purchase and give to a friend who could stand to see some hope in the issues they face with a chronic illness. Leading with Questions: How Leaders Discover Powerful Answers by Knowing How and What to Ask
by
Michael J. Marquardt and Bob Tiede

, May 09, 2023
I wish more people could or would take the time to read this book. The art of listening is weak these days. In this book, the authors give you great guidance on how to ask the right questions to be able to glean valuable information. Also by learning to ask then listen to the people speak is an art form in and of itself that most people don't bother learning to master. Fabulous book for leaders at any level and within any organization. Well done book. I recommend it for anyone leading people. What an emotional and deep story. This Biblical fiction was an enjoyable read and one I couldn't put down. Very vivid in the descriptions and it was well done in drawing me in to see what would happen next in Asenath's decisions. Highly recommend this book if you like Biblical fiction. Grace Under Pressure: Leading Through Change and Crisis
by
John Baldoni
Tammy K.
, April 25, 2023
Grace Under Pressure is a great book for any leader in any arena. Though written primarily for the workplace, I believe it's a book that should be read by anyone in a leadership role. Life is full of stress and hard times and learning to be a leader with compassion and care along with leadership skills is a good thing. Far too often people are not given any amount of grace, especially in the workplace. But the art of being a great leader to keep the team running smooth and adding in grace where needed would take any team or committee to the top as people wanting to give their job the best they can. Leaders - read this book. Disclaimer: I received a paperback copy of this book from the author with no expectation in return. The thoughts and opinions above are mine and I shared them voluntarily.

Culture Rules The Leaders Guide to Creating the Ultimate Competitive Advantage

Culture Rules is a great tool in equipping leaders to build strong teams. Half the battle of having a powerful work crew is making sure they want to be there. With so many people jumping ship from job to job looking for the best job for them, having a culture within the confines of the company that makes people want to dig in and stay takes work. Within the pages of this book are three simple rules which leaders may use for their own work environment. A must read for anyone in Leadership. Remember Me
by
Tracie Peterson
Tammy K.
, March 06, 2023
This was my first book to read by Tracie Peterson and the first book in this new series. Needless to say, I'm hooked. The hardship Addie endures to who she becomes was a beautiful testament to how God works in everyone's life to restore what was destroyed. Seeing Addie's faith grow was very relatable and you couldn't help but to cheer her on to persevere. Getting a glimpse into the Alaska-Yukon area was fun since I've never been there. I recommend this book for the who love Historical Romance Stories. Disclaimer: I received an ARC copy of the book from Bethany House/Baker Publishing Group with no expectations in return. Under Fire
by
Lynn H Blackburn

I try to remind myself not to start a book after 6 pm by this author. But sometimes, you just wanna dig into a new book no matter the consequences. Case in point, started at 7 pm and in true Blackburn style she had my attention until I finished the epilogue. Yep, straight through until 3:30 am. It was a page turner for sure. In this Defend and Protect series, I have loved getting to know these crew of characters and coworkers and felt like I KNEW them. Seriously. And in this final book of the series, the way their characters are described through the senses, you begin to know what will make them jump, clear to which doughnut they prefer. The amount of suspense and action in this final book of the series did not disappoint. I often have a guess early in a Romantic Suspense book who the villain might be, but not this time. Well played, Ms. Blackburn. But the swoon worthy romance ... sigh. Gosh, you sure hoped the Zane and Tessa would get together by the end. This book is #3 and the final book in the series. I highly recommend this book. Disclaimer: I received an ARC from Revell/BakerHousePublishing with no expectation in return. The Oasis King: The Oasis Chronicles

This book is a great kid’s book that I happened to enjoy - though not quite a “kid” any longer. The adventure the three boys took was action filled and pulled you in. If you’re looking for a fun story with a great message for your young reader, this is it. It’s the first of a series and I believe it could be the beginning of your child/grandchild’s love for reading. They’ll be asking for the next story as soon as you finish the last page. It’s a fantastic book you could read along with them - and you’ll both enjoy it. Highly recommend it. I Know Who You Are How an Amateur DNA Sleuth Unmasked the Golden State Killer & Changed Crime Fighting Forever
by

This was a very interesting read! I was intrigued from the Preface! I found myself glued to the story, how an amateur could gather information enough to help name a serial killer. Having done my own DNA a couple of years ago, it was fascinating to me how what started for the author as an interest in her own family history to then become a whiz on using genetic genealogy to help Crime Investigators solve cases. I enjoyed the book and the evolving of using DNA to help solve cold cases. Refresh Your Hope 60 Devotions for Trusting God with All Your Heart
by
Lori Hatcher

, January 03, 2023
I was encouraged so much reading through this book. With all the darkness surrounding us these days, it's very easy to feel hopeless in all aspects of our lives. This book breathed fresh air into my mind and into my heart. Each day as I read the selection, I would read it, then stop and ponder the words. Then I'd read it a second time and let those words adjust my thinking for that day. By the end of the 60 days, I truly did feel a refreshed feeling of hope. It changed my perspective on many things. I highly recommend this book for yourself. But recommend buying a couple to have on hand as gifts for those you encounter who could use a big dose of encouragement. Refresh their Hope by giving them a tool to assist them along their way. Disclaimer: I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no expectations in return. I've never read a YA dystopian book before - it's a new genre to me. Probably because I'm not considered YA - haha! But, this book has introduced me to a new genre which will find me reading again. Especially by this author. The author's debut novel had me from the first page and pulled me through to the end with anticipation and eagerness to see what Jadzia Mills, the heroine, would encounter next. This book is well crafted and well worth the time to read - I highly recommend it. Disclaimer: I received a digital copy from the author with no expectation in return. Targeted: Three Romantic Suspense Novellas
by
Lynette Eason and Lynn H. Blackburn and Natalie Walters
Tammy K.
, November 01, 2022
This collection of three romantic suspense stories was a real treat. Loving the books of all three of these authors, having a novella from each in one book was fun to read. Expected a great story to pull me in filled with the suspense and romance I've come to expect out of these authors and I wasn't disappointed. It was fun seeing familiar characters from their other series have a small story of their own. Expected to be holding my breath to see who will survive and if the perps would be caught. And I definitely held my breath, that's for sure. I highly recommend this book. Disclaimer: I was given this book from one of the authors with no expectation in return. The Answers Are There
by
Libby Hoffman
Tammy K.
, October 25, 2022
This book was a challenging read in a good way. It makes you think about how you are living in peace with those around you. We often look to others to change our world, our problems, our issues. But what if, instead, we look within and see how we can be the first to change. Reading the passion in Ms. Hoffman's desire to help a country heal and giving the tools to begin that process was inspiring. She doesn't promise a quick nor easy fix, but rather the steps to start. The follow up will be up to each of us that choose to be the change in the world for more peace. I was moved by her personal account of the transformation within her own journey. And she inspired me to start making my own transformation. Highly recommend this book if you want to be part of the change toward peace starting right where you live. "Someone will die in your office today." Well good morning to you too caller, oh, and Merry Christmas! The first line let's us know we're in for some action-packed suspense for sure. But it certainly doesn't stop with the first line. The story is well written and keeps your attention turning page after page searching for the identity of this JB character. Add in a little romantic drama, some K-9 activity and Christmas, and you have the makings of a great story. The author did a great job weaving such a story that was not only fun to read, but exciting to play amateur sleuth to try to figure it all out. Highly recommend this book to add to your Christmas book collection. Disclaimer: I received a digital copy from the author with no expectation in return. The thoughts and comments above are my own.

Wow. What a great suspense-filled book. At times I found myself holding my breath and turning page after page totally engrossed in the action. Even though I would say, just a couple more pages, I couldn't help myself and I'd keep going until I hit the end. Trying to solve a puzzling case, the skeletons in the Turney family secrets beg to be set free. But someone is determined to keep skeletons buried. Or maybe add to those buried. A good read if you like to help solve the mystery along with the author. HaHa. Two thumbs up on this one.
