Angel Face The Real Story of Student Killer Amanda Knox

The most important thing to know is you don't need to buy this book. My friend made that mistake, and was shocked. I borrowed it, and found out why - it is unbelievably short, barely 200 pages with very large letters. like a children's book. You can easily go into Borders or Barns & Noble and read it in an hour. That being said, it does cover the basics. If you know nothing about the tragic murder of Meredith Kercher, this is a decent start. You can get the same info from newspaper articles and websites , but this summarizes it succinctly. As the title reveals, Nadeau is less than objective. She covers the prosecution's case verbatim, leaving out the other side. Barbie spends a lot of time gossiping about hanging out and schmoozing with the principle characters, if you like that sort of thing. Even for those of you reading between the lines, this booklet is very, very short - a super-quick one-sided read.

Murder in Italy

Once I picked this book up, I couldn't put it down. Previously, I had read a short booklet by Barbie Nadeau, but it completely lacked details. Since I have read a lot about this in the newspapers and blogs, I already knew the bare basics. Dempsey takes you through the event of Nov.1st - Nov.6th in riveting detail. All the background is included also. Then we see how all the evidence is developed, and the controversial verdict comes about. While covering every aspect of the prosecution's case, we also see the heartrending plight of Amanda and her family. If you have any interest at all on the tragic murder of Meredith Kercher, you really want to read this book. If you know nothing about the case at all, you will be reading a powerful murder mystery.
