Certainly a blast for preteens who need the 'Different is good' shpeil that parents and teachers shove down their throats affirmed. I wouldn't aim for an audience higher than 12 though. But maybe I'm overestimating 'the youth of today.'

As gossip/fashion books go, (which isn't that great) this is still one of the best.

Inheritance Cycle 01 Eragon

There is not a single phrase in this book that does not fit under the catagory of (a)Purple Prose, (b)Mary-Sue, (c) clishe, or (d) all of the above. The success of this book is built on the fact that his publishers were, in fact, good old Mom and Dad, and the marketing of the fact that he was homeschooled and started writing it at 15. (Make no mention of that fact that it was -finished- by about 18)

If this pathetic child's writing was half as good as he thinks it is, the world would lie willingly beneath his feet. Hey, people would actually have heard he /existed/ from other sources besides chat boards laughing at him and his own self-praise. However, the sad fact is, his ego outstrips his skill by the largest margin I have ever had the misfortune of seeing.
