It is hard to contain my excitement over having "new" Janet Frame to read. I know she may not have let this one go in its current condition, but I am enjoying the strong imagery and wonderful characters nonetheless.

Wonderful book that not only took me on an intense adventure, but this is the first book I've read in many years that I actually felt good about ethically.

Towards Another Summer

How could I not be excited to see work from Janet Frame, who left us in 2004! This is one of her most autobiographical novels, and one of the best. Her shyness, her glorious self-consciousness are in abundance. Her genius at exposing one's nakedness to the world has never been better.

I am eagerly awaiting the release of Mendelsohn's The Lost. I found The Elusive Embrace beautifully written, moving and candid.
