Entertaining and fast paced. The characters develop in understandable ways and so you begin to care about what happens to them next. I hate having to wait for the next book.

I loved this book. It was educational. The attitudes of the settlers toward the Native Americans was disturbing to a teenager. It gave me much to think about.

I first read this book in Jr. High. I reread it multiple times. It has everything; a great read.
