Fabulous adventure story as well as insights into what drives our fears and how to modify them (hint: it's not conditioning.) She has a rare gift for story telling as well as transmitting complex scientific information. It's my go-to gift for friends this year!

The subtitle of the book is "The Insider's Guide to Life-Long Memory" and the forward claims that it will present "modifiable medical and lifestyle risk factors ... to reduce the risk of memory loss and improve cognitive function with age." It is a tiny book that summarizes well understood, general, healthy dietary and lifestyle choices, and does not cite specific research on memory. Buy Michael Pollen instead ...
