Jerry Seinfeld

I grew up watching Seinfeld as a family. On the floor, in my mother's bedroom. All five of us would fill our dinner plates and then find a place to watch Seinfeld. It was a fantastic family ritual and I truly believe it bonded our family with laughter. I still quote the show and love watching the reruns every so often. I think Jerry Seinfeld is a brilliant comedian....and unfortunately, he should have kept this material verbal. I can imagine hearing Jerry speak everything in this book, but it is disjointed; divided by category. Perhaps if it was arranged in a way it would flow better, it would have been a better read. I would have preferred spend the time watching one of those reruns instead of reading this book. Bummer.

The Aladdin Factor: How to Ask for What You Want--And Get It
by
Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen

This book is not about "wishes". This book is about making your own reality. After reading this book, I have found a new confidence and optimism that was lacking in my life previously. I had heard of Jack Canfield from Chicken Soup For The Soul but didn't really think anything of it. I read this book but did not remember the authors until I watched The Secret and remembered Jack Canfield. I read this book again and felt even better than when I read it the first time! I think it might be time for me to read it again....

Five Love Languages How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate

This book is fantastic! It has not only helped me in romantic relationships, but also in friendships and coworker relations. I recommend this book to anyone who has ever left a relationship thinking, "What went wrong??" Knowing yourself is just as important as recognizing traits in others, when it comes to interacting with people. As much as the title may imply 5 exact categories, the point really is about discovering those grey areas and being able to recognize them. I cannot sign off without saying, I am a 30-something female and my mother and step-father (in their 60's-70's) also found this book incredibly helpful!! Enjoy!!

What Came Before He Shot Her
by
Elizabeth George

This book gets you from the first page. A thrilling and very real account of fiction. I found myself tortured to have to stop reading and was enthralled by the drama and tragedy of this family of three children. While my life struggles pale in comparison, I found myself empathizing with characters I would never see eye to eye with in the outside world. That being said; while I love a good cliffhanger, Ms. George left me hanging in a way I did not appreciate. When I realized it was the last page, I was frustrated and angered. A warning to any and all who like to know just a bit of an ending...it does not come with this novel.

Not the best read I have ever had, but still an education in an American sub-culture that many are not aware of. Very interesting although I found it to be a bit redundant after a few chapters. I'm glad I read it and may recommend it, depending on the person, but I probably will not read it again.

Surprisingly enjoyable read! I am not a fan of the restaurant business or horse racing or polo but this book had me from the first chapter. Unpredictable turns and great character development! I enjoyed this book very much!

A great story and great characters. I found the prose to be a bit lengthy to comprehend but over all, a good read.

I got this book because of the Daily Dose and I am sooo glad I did! This was my first "Lesbian Pulp Fiction" and I am hooked!! Great story for anyone who has ever felt left out in any way. This is not about some modern time with modern values. This takes place long before it was "OK to be gay". Facinating and heart-moving. I can't praise it enough!

I was lent this book on a vacation and could not put it down. As it starts out, the mood is sad, almost pity for what this boy was growing up with. But as the story unfolds, you see why is was important to get through the beginning...it made him who he is. Definitely a must read...please keep in mind that some content is graphic and of an adult nature. I finished this book in two days and I'll bet you will read it just as quickly!

What to Say When You Talk to Yourself

Finally!! A book to help me undo all the negative programming my father instilled in me! If you have ever had self-esteem issues, concentration issues, motivation issues, or if you have just been living your life, this book will work wonders on your mind. It gives you the tools for long term change, which seminars and most other books leave out. Short term outside motivation is helpful, but if you truly want to change your life, read this book.

This is a classic. I would say timeless, but my hope is that this country is NOT going in that direction. Very well written and full of promises of what is to come if we do not stand up for our rights. Scary, but an enjoyable read. If you haven't read this one yet, please do!!

As much as many people are criticizing the ideas in this book, many other people have found it to be extrememly helpful in their lives. I am one of those people. It is important to have an open mind and an open heart when reading this treasure. Too few books these days give you an overall feeling of bliss and this book does just that. Also asthetically amazing!!! Give it a try and see what your mind is capable of!

& Never Let Her Go Thomas Capano The Deadly Seducer
by
Ann Rule
Julyemarie
, February 05, 2007
It's no secret that I am a huge Ann Rule fan. She writes in a way that is packed full of information, but still easy and interesting to read. This book, in particular is quite gripping, to the point of almost unbelieveable. The interest for me, was compounded by the fact that this story takes place in the area I grew up. Even if you don't know the area, by the first page, you will quickly become facinated with the devastating story of Anne Marie Fahey, may she rest in peace.

Humanure Handbook A Guide to Composting Human Manure 3rd Edition

A fantastic look at what we call "waste". One read changed my whole outlook on how wasteful modern society is. While reading about a topic that is "taboo" to discuss these days, many points brought up other waste issues as well as some humorous insight into many cultures. The author is obivously more concerned with reducing the waste of valuable resources than making a profit and that makes it all the more worth the read. I am buying copies for everyone I think of!!!
