I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

Merle's Door grabs you and doesn't let go, while following a dog that found his master and loved being without a leash. It's told from the POV of the dog, Merle. His door opens to a world where he makes his rounds and some of his "friends" come through the door to visit in his home. The author has contributed articles to Outside magaine.

School of Essential Ingredients
by

It's essential before reading any book on food and cooking to eat first. My mouth kept anticipating taking a taste of one thing after another. I sensed that the food talked to each of the students as they revealed a piece of themselves. The senses will have a great time reawakening to sumptuious smells and delectable tastes. This warm-hearted tale is almost like eating a satisfying meal except there's no calories to add to the hips.

Tender Bar A Memoir
by
J R Moehringer
Alyson W
, November 05, 2007
Alcohol is not high on my list as a substance to filter life. However, JR Moehringer makes sense portraying characters who find comfort in the community of one bar. His realistic depictions run the range of emotional highs and the downside of woes as you, the reader, listen in and overhear snatches of conversation exchanged over liquid entertainment.
