Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

I loved this book so much. It was very interesting to read because it kind of was full of flashbacks. I thought Pam Conrad wrote this in a very good way. I couldn't put the book down. It's one of my favorite books. It's about a Girl named Julie who lives on a farm in the 1800's. Her Brother Daniel finds Dinosaur bones in a creek. I would highly recomend this book to anyone who likes Dinosaurs and History.

I just finished reading Charley Skedaddle. I already read it last year but I loved it so much I had to read it again. I love History. Charley Skedaddle is one of my favorite books. I love the Andy Griffith show and Opie is my favorite character. I thought the boy on the cover looked alot like Opie so I had a lot of fun picturing Opie as Charley. I first started liking Historical Fiction books in fifth grade. At my School We have something called Battle of the books which is a list of fifty books that fifth and sixth graders can read and they pick five kids from each class and they have a battle with questions about the books. Anyways one of the books was Turn Homeward, Hannahlee by Patricia Beatty. I loved it and it made me love History so I owe a lot to Patricia Beatty. Charley Skedaddle is a Very good book that teaches a good lesson about being Brave.
