Good Calories Bad Calories Fats Carbs & the Controversial Science of Diet & Health

This book is amazing. I wish I'd read it ten years ago. I have been so confused about why we are all so unhealthy and Taubes book gives an insightful analysis of the history of nutrition research and politics, and then explains the science behind how fat and carbohydrates are metabolized by our bodies. I recommend this book especially to anyone struggling with obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer -- or anyone worried about getting those diseases which actually... is pretty much everyone.

I think this is a fantastic book for parents who want to really "work with" their children and understand them. I love this book. Sadly, I loaned it out and never got it back so I guess one of my friends liked it as much as I did. I highly recommend it because it has lots of fun and creative ideas for building a close relationship with your children and eliminating power struggles.
