This was a truly distinctive book, as it really had no plot. It just described the daily life of a certain part of England at a certain time in history. It was fascinating to me.

The entire series of Kristin books are amongst the best I have ever read. Even though the trilogy was set many centuries ago, the themes ring true for today's reader. Life, death, infidelity, and Christianity are all explored in these books.
