Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. Queens Thief 02 Queen Of Attolia

This one caught me completely off guard. I had read the first book in the series (the Thief) several years ago and loved it. When I saw the sequel I was a little afraid that it would drag down the first. But if anything it has even more lovely twistings of plot and character. I've already recommended this series to several friends and would heartily encourage all of you to fall in love; as I did, with Megan Whalen Turner's world.

Magic Study Study 02
by

A story to take you away from the pain and hope of the day to day and show you the mirrored dreams of another?s life. Basically, I enjoyed ?Magic Study? very much. Though I found it to be more predictable than ?Poison Study? with a somewhat hurried story line, I would wholeheartedly recommend both of Maria V. Snyder?s books. I?ll be anxiously waiting for the next installment. Maybe I should reread the first book so I?ll be ready?
