Endurance: My Year in Space and Our Journey to Mars

Fascinating book! This is one of the most interesting books I have read in quite a while. While I chose it to read it because of the space exploration, the author’s life story was well written and held my attention. He did not hold back about his underachieving in high school and early college. The best part of the book though was the story of his space flights and his year long adventure on the International Space Station. His explanation of day to day life in space was riveting. Simple tasks on earth became difficult and worse in space. The insight into life in space was very thought provoking.

Six Years
by
Harlan Coben

Do not start this book unless you have time to sit and finish it. It starts at a wedding, not your everyday wedding but one with a twist. After the ceremony, a promise is made. That promise lasts six years and then "the plot thickens". As with all of Harlan Coben's books, the plot takes turn after turn and just when you have solved the case, you find out that you have not even started. A really great read.

Caught

Once again Harlan Coben has proven that he is the modern master of the suspense novel. His books normally take a number of twists and turns until he is ready to spring the unexpected ending on the reader. Caught is no exception. In his latest, he has a number of subplots that he weaves together and hits you one surprise ending after another. But this is just not a mystery novel. He also has written of message of forgiveness that rides underneath the mystery. A true fascinating read.

Empire Falls

Definately the best book I have read in the last ten years and maybe the best ever. The story of a small Maine town and the lives of its inhabitants has a little of something for everyone. There is drama, humor, love, and even some suspense. The book may be even more relevant today in the current economic times as the industry around the area is failing, one plant and business at a time. Once you have read this marvelous story, you will not soon forget the residents of Empire Falls.
