I thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrative is so smooth that I wasn't bothered by the shifts in time.

I'm a "hard sell" where stories are concerned. Few writers craft characters I care about and want to stay with. This was the rare book that I struggled to put down and return to work. Travis Brown was a sympathetic character whose challenges seemed so humanly real. Each Chamberlain book keeps getting better. I look forward to her next one.

A soul-stirring read; the beautiful language in no way slowed down the plot. These are characters you want to spend time with; their story begins the day Abraham Lincoln was shot.
