Joe Abercrombie's Red Country introduces new characters and brings a few favorites back from his first trilogy for our enjoyment, and he does not disappoint. Nobody else writing fantasy today makes the reader smell the dirt, feel the cold of fording a stream or hear the rasp of steel against scabbard the way Abercrombie does. This is a very enjoyable, worthwhile addition to the world he has created.

When should you listen to your inner voice, and when not? How many times have we all wished we had "listened to ourselves" weeks or months after recognizing a hunch or intuitive idea, only to ignore it and move on? Or wished that we had NEVER made the decision we did? Kahneman turns out to be pretty good at telling stories, and his insights into thought processes are revealing and thought-provoking. If only this were required reading for our politicians...

If the prudes at Home School Book Review hate it (without even reading it - "oh, I'm SO insulted"...) then it MUST be worth a look. And yes, it was! Right on the money and a heartwarming read. Thank you for steering me to this great book, HSBR.
