Honourable Schoolboy

Le Carre's towering achievement from the '70s. The middle installment of his famed Carla Trilogy, this massive spy novel is epic in scope, challengingly dense in detail, and ultimately as tragic as it is suspenseful.

Sick Puppy

For my money, Hiaasen's funniest and most satisfying book, (with Double Whammy a semi-close second.) Skink's relentless tormenting of the various uniformly despicable bad guys had me literally crying with laughter. A great place to start for those who've never read Hiaasen.

Crimson Orgy
by
Austin Williams
suspense fan

An excellent new thriller, this novel will appeal to readers who enjoy white-knuckle suspense, vivid atmosphere, and eccentric characters. Told with a mordant sense of humor, Crimson Orgy is about the making of a legendary horror movie from the 1960s that some people believe might be the first actual "snuff film" of all time. The less said about the plot the better, as each chapter introduces new surprises that make it impossible to foresee how it all works out. Highly entertaining and original, this is the kind of book that's made to be shared among avid fans of cutting-edge fiction.
