Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

This is an update so to speak on a previous comment and rating of 2. I would say 2 or 3 because of the section in the back (Property Reference) having no quick example lines. This would have been a perfect CSS manual with a simple quick example in Property References area. Double line spacing there? How about single line and only double space what the reader/user is interested in, put in one or two examples. The rest of the book is excellent, especially if you like to read indepth on a certain rule, selector (use ID or Class ) etc. One last thing while I'm thinking about it ... could have used PC FONT POPULAR LIST, PC's that have been touched with MS OFFICE (the majority of the PC world) and of course a relative Macintosh font set too!

Rate could be a 5 but format types in back of book have no examples. I imagine this is because of many pages being needed for printing purposes etc. That bunch of tripe copied from w3c is useless. Readers/users surf the web for css tips and examples but I can assure you they NEVER NEVER use wc3 as it has to much useless drivel text to get through when finding examples and one sentence statements on how to use or place it. All users get their info from geek sites and or private sites off the engines. We find a good one or two we bookmark and again!!!! it is not some form of w3c site that is bookmarked. Frankly w3c is not unlike government sites, I know, I have critiqued thier copy/text for Dept. of Education. Basically it is hard to navigate, very very slow for user to get info, and they are horrid as a quick read.
