Two Old Potatoes & Me

I gave my copy away to a friend & regretted it so am buying another even though my kids have outgrown it. This story is so richly layered, through the amazing creative illustrations as well as the text. It is a lovely portrait of a dad & his daughter, getting into the garden together, over a thing so many of us have have encountered: potatoes going bad. They turn it into something both common (growing something in a garden) and unusual (I don't know many who grow potatoes ). An incredible story for all ages.

What a great counting book! It's nice on so many levels-the art is fantastic, the story engaging, the counting unusual(5 bunches of greens, 10 hands unloading groceries), and how amazing to see an African American family in an all American activity-food shopping and preparation. It's refreshing too to see kids engaged in helping out in daily activities. Very well done. I am buying copies for friends and family.
