Titanic Survivor, Special Centennial Edition
by
Violet Jessop
AE
, January 02, 2013
The very entertaining biography and travelogue of Violet Jessup, who survived 2 ship sinkings and saw the world and a whirlwind of changes in it. Despite her abbreviated education Violet is a great writer, and she surely had an eye for detail. Fabled editor John Maxtone-Graham's comments add tasty icing to an already lovely cake. A must-read for travel buffs, lovers of biographies and of course Titanic enthusiasts

It's the fictional story of a young white woman who sets out to write a book about African-American maids' thoughts on their white employers .... searing, amusing, shocking, and one of the most delightful books ever. Full of laughs and cheers. Extremely highly recommended!

Clever characters in a rich and fascinating story, absolutely made for fireside reading in a place where laughing out loud is also encouraged
