Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. I must meet this author/photographer. I understand that she is living in Portland, Oregon? She is an artist extraordinaire. What emotion is brought forth from Torina and the other village inabitants? My heart aches because of the beauty of her images. Thank you, Joni Kabana . . . thank you, Torina.

Tillamook Cheese Cookbook Celebrating 100 Years of Excellence

I had the opportunity to see a one-of-a-kind preview book prior to the inventory arriving at Powell's and I was blown away. I must say that my first thought was . . . "HOW MANY WAYS CAN YOU COOK MAC & CHEESE ? Well, I must tell you this is a gorgeous book with a plethora (i learned that word in college) of high-quality recipes. Just INCREDIBLE. This is evidently a 100 year centennial book celebration. WOW, Tillamook has been around for 100 years? What really touched me about this work is that it is also a celebration, and recognition of the families that have been invested in this industry for like 4-5 generations. WOW . . . and an appropriate honoring of those families. Hey, buy the book.
