The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl by Timothy Egan
	SMacy, September 01, 2011 A fascinating history of the interlocking geological, political, economic and meteorological causes of the Great Dustbowl. Egan uses the classic documentary style of focusing on one, small community to stand in for the larger society, and he uses it comfortably. His research is exhaustive and his eye for detail serves the reader well. I would recommend this book to anyone who is not satisfied with cliched explanations for great events but prefers to discover real, root causes.

	SMacy, January 01, 2011 Always trust Rick, he knows what he's talking about. The only down side? You frequently end up dining with people carrying the same guide book as yourself. The up side? Those are often extremely interesting and fun people.
