Miguel Todaro

Helpful For Anyone In Business In this book, Miguel Todaro does a phenomenal job explaining how to use internet marketing to its full potential. Todaro discusses the numerous benefits which a company can obtain through using internet marketing to sell themselves in the 21st. He describes taking advantage of the constant low cost which the internet offers, the ability to track a customer’s purchase habits, the huge potential Return On Investment, and the countless other opportunities that the internet provides. Todaro also does a great job explaining search engines and how they work. He is particularly helpful when detailing the best way to create a website so that the keywords a potential customer enters will lead them your business’ website. Todaro also tells how you can analyze your competition’s keywords that way you can compete more effectively against them. In addition to that, there is an extremely illuminating chapter on how to optimize your website. Todaro goes through ten basic areas which should be addressed to ensure that your website is running at peak performance. Headlines, titles, footers, and other vital website components are addressed in this section. Also, later in the book, link popularity and the ways your site can gain greater link popularity are discussed (gaining greater link popularity will cause search engines to rank you higher when they return search results). The strategies described here are a must for anyone looking to grow their business’ exposure on the internet. But, these are only a few ways that the book details on internet marketing. There is some much useful information here that anyone who is in business or is looking to promote their website should read this book.

Online Marketing Techniques for Real Estate Agents & Brokers: Insider Secrets You Need to Know to Take Your Business to the Next Level
by
Karen Vieira

, December 10, 2008
Useful for Anyone in Real Estate This is a great novel on how to market yourself as a real estate agent or broker online. The author Karen Vieira runs through a myriad of topics that all focus on utilizing the internet’s power to grow yourself as a real estate agent or broker. It opens by describing why an agent should utilize the internet, and the explanations confirm any doubts that a current agent may have about the internet’s usefulness. In a particularly useful chapter, Vieira discusses branding via the internet and how one’s website and persona on the internet should be an extension and definition of their current brand. She goes into ways one can build this brand through a professional website. It describes things like catchphrases, statistics, and guarantees. These are all outlined; Vieira describes how each should be properly and effectively used. Another very helpful topic that Vieira touches on is how to fully utilize search engines with your website. No one wants a website that does not appear in the top twenty relevant sites when its category is searched. Vieira enumerates ways to keep your website at the top of the heap. From things as simple as frequency of your site’s text changes to major alterations on the site, Vieira details and educates how and when these changes should be made. I think that I found this information to be the most useful, but all throughout the book, Vieira provides strong, helpful insights which I have not seen in any other kind of internet marketing books. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to enhance their presence in the real estate industry or anyone just looking to create a web presence for their business.

Green Your Home: The Complete Guide to Making Your New or Existing Home Environmentally Healthy
by
Roberts, Jeanne
William_Zellig
, December 10, 2008
Make Your Home Environmentally Friendly In this book, Jeanne Roberts does an excellent job explaining how one can make their home more environmentally friendly and why it is important to make your home environmentally friendly. She opens by explaining that our fuel supplies are diminishing, particularly the fossil fuels like coal and oil. She then describes how our large-scale use of these supplies has caused, according to scientists, a 1.08 degree Fahrenheit increase in the earth’s temperature, and some scientists predict that the temperature may increase by 10 degrees F. by 2100. Based on these dire predictions, Roberts tells us what we can do to combat this phenomenon. Roberts opens by describing the important basics which can reduce your energy bill like switching from incandescent light bulbs to compact fluorescents. Another helpful section also tells how to equip your home with “green” appliances. Also, outlined are more involved measures that insure your home is green like how to put a green roof on your home. This is important because it can significantly reduce your heating and cooling costs while filtering out pollutants and carbon dioxide from your air. Roberts, also, does a great job detailing which type of roof to buy and how to go about buying and installing it. Additionally, the appropriate, energy-efficient type of refrigerator is discussed as well as dishwashers, trash compactors, and clothes washers and dryers. Every aspect of your home and its green friendliness is outlined in this book. Furthermore, it is written in good clean language with illuminating cost comparisons which show the financial benefit of going “green”. So, anyone who is looking to build a new home or simply make their current home more “green” should definitely read this book.
