Treasures In The Trunk Quilts Of The Oregon Trail
by
Mary Bywater Cross
Judy Ann
, March 04, 2009
After reading about the quilts made by those who had migrated to the West, I began to really get a feel for the women who came the West on the Oregon Trail. This isn't a story, but the description of the quilts and of the women who made them, which brings the past to life.

Treasures In The Trunk Quilts Of The Ore

Anyone who loves quilts and the traditions associated with them will enjoy this book. While not written in a novel form, you quickly begin to see something of the women who made the quilts. If, like me, you had a great-great gramma who came to Oregon in a covered wagon, you will want to read this.

Knitting Without Tears Basic Techniques & Easy To Follow Directions for Garments to Fit All Sizes
by
Elizabeth Zimmermann
Judy Ann
, April 23, 2007
This is a delightful book to read, but even more, a very helpful guide to knitting. Ms. Zimmermann is witty and relaxed about knitting. She passes on things she has learned, which can be applied to life as well as knitting. Totally worth the price even if you buy it new!

Delightful book that lets us know that ingenuity and adventure are not only for the young, but for the young at heart. Emily Pollifax is a heroine for all who plan to live to ripe old age with joy.
