Wild

I was pulled to pick up this book initially due to its title, "Wild." Let me tell you, the title lived up to its name. Cheryl Strayed's memoir takes you through an emotional roller coaster of ups and downs and then it leaves you with such a beautiful sense of hope. She is brutally honest and raw and lets you into her intimate life as long as you show up. I give my highest ratings to this book and recommend it to those who want to ride shotgun on a difficult but rewarding journey.

Help

The Help is a book that made me think twice and deeply about the state of Mississippi in the 1960's. I was completely carried away in this story. Stockett's descriptive writing and detailed character development left me wanting more. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to go on a journey back in time and see life through the eyes of African American maids and white ladies from privileged background. The Help will not disappoint.

The Help flowed very well and kept me intrigued with every page. I stayed up late many nights just because I wanted to see what would happen! I loved learning a little about the history of Mississippi in the 60's, and thought the character development was phenomenal. I highly recommend this book!
