Dissolution

Another book I couldn't put down. I've been to several of the places that the characters describe so I was transported there but not to modern day but to the middle of the reign of Henry VIII, that's how good the historical research in this book it. The characters are well drawn and the dialogue is beautifully written. You actually feel like you could be friends with the main character so that during his trials and tribulations you yearn to reach out and comfort him. The author’s view of the political reasons behind the dissolutions of the monasteries and the religious upheavals is also very interesting.

Still had the zing of the first one. Pretty good plot and a little bit more character development in this one. Definitely written for a long term series with a whole world worked out and the intricacies of relationships of office romances and budding careers as well has how to handles one’s personal potential. Fun and quirky.

Cute, quick read. Perfect for those who loved Angel and CSI and Kim Harrison's books. Quirky somewhat snarky lead character makes for some fun dialogue. Will need to read the next one to see if the series can sustain itself.

The world in this book is bleak but offers a light at the end of the tunnel for our troubled world. "Wait a minute, Juanita. Make up your mind. This Snow Crash thing—is it a virus, a drug, or a religion?" Juanita shrugs. "What's the difference?"

A smart read about the curious world of fads, and love and of course sheep. Everything is better with sheep.
