Brief Gaudy Hour

Even though this is a historical novel only, it seemed as well-researched as any non-fiction biography. It is also a little more unbiased than most works about Anne Boleyn

Bonapartes The History Of The Dynasty
by
Willian H C Smith

I found this book disappointing in the fact that it had less than a paragraph on the American Bonapartes. The contributions that the American line made tend to forgetten to history.

Birth Of Neurosis Myth Malady & The Victorians
by
George F Drinka

Dry reading for the most part, and one would have thought it went into anorexia more than it did. The most interesting part was the chapter entitled "Private Lives" which was mini-biographies of such people as George Sand, George Elliot, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, & Lizzie Siddall.

& I Alone Survived
by
Lauren Elder

If you like survival stories, you should read this. When a small plane crashed in the High Sierra, one person was killed on impact, one did not survive the night, & Lauren Elder struggled to cross the mountains in dangerously low temperatures in a fight to stay alive

Anatomy Of Anorexia
by
Steven Levenkron
C M Padget
, July 10, 2010
This book deals too much with the cliches of anorexia to be of much interest. Of the case studies presented, only one male example was provided. In his case he had stopped eating due to a digestive disturbance he had been suffering from, & not any conscious desire to stop eating. The other case studies fell under the perfectionists, &/or incest victims

Afterlands

Since I have more interest in polar exploration, & none at all in the Spanish-American war, which is what the majority of this book pertains to, I did not even finish reading this book. I found the title, cover, & marketing of this book very misleading, & the book itself extremely boring.

by
Steven Callahan
C M Padget
, July 10, 2010
After the wreck of his ship, Steven Callahan escaped drowning by the use of an inflatable raft. But the hardships he suffered by surviving may have been worse. He was without clothes, sufficient food, water, or equipment, & had only the anguish of seeing ships passing several times, but overlooking him. Using his meager resources miraculously survived against incredible odds
