Where'd You Go, Bernadette
by
Maria Semple

, October 13, 2013
I read one of the reviews of this book that compared Ms. Semple to Jane Austen and as I put the book down and think back to it I have to agree with a huge smile. I loved this book, devoured it in less than 12 hours and loved every minute of it. The ending snuck up on me which I always like. It's humorous and endearing and as a fellow Pacific Norwest transplant I connected with Bernadette on so many levels. Highly recommend this book.

One of Our Thursdays Is Missing
by
Jasper Fforde

Jasper Fforde has written another amazing chapter in this great series. The point of view and plot of the book is unique and very interesting. I couldn't put the book down. His laugh out loud wit, nod to literature of all genres, and unfathomable imagination with his story telling has me a fan for life. Any bookworm will love the idea of BookWorld and the famous characters that make an appearance in this series.

Circus Galacticus
by
Deva Fagan

Circus Galacticus was a page turner! It's exciting and full of wonderful characters and kept me guessing until the very end (which is a rarity in books). What a wonderful new world to explore and I hope to read more about them all. Ms. Fagan does a wonderful job with creating a main character to relate to and to struggle with as she has to make tough decisions. I would recommend this book to any young reader who dreams of space adventures or even feels like they don't belong.

Thursday Next First Among Sequels

I really enjoyed this the 5th in the series. It's been quite a while since I had read one of this series and I continually found myself in awe with the world that Jasper Fforde has created. As a person who likes artistic endeavors I find myself a bit covetous of this original idea. So glad I have the 6th book on my shelf to read next! I picked up the first book in the series, The Eyre Affair on a whim, read it, loved it so much that I read the entire book out loud to my husband while on road trips and we've kept it a tradition ever since! Highly recommend this author!

Finger Lickin Fifteen
by
Janet Evanovich

And the saga of Stephanie Plum continues with this book. Ms. Evanovich finds cleaver fiascos for Stephanie and the supporting wacky characters I love were all there in all their glory. The tension between Ranger - Stephanie - and Morelli is steamy and I can't help but like both males for the qualities. Would definitely recommend this because it is laugh out loud funny.

This Time Together
by
Carol Burnett

This is a glimpse it Ms. Burnett's past that is filled with the icons that most of us only dream about knowing better. Lucille Ball, Tim Conway, Cary Grant, Julie Andrews, and more. The chapters flew by and I can only say that I wished the book was longer. The book at times is laugh out loud funny and makes me wish we could watch all those great variety shows again!

False Friend
by

"The False Friend" was a haunting story that kept me reading through the last chapter to find out how it ended. Celia is a complex character and you can't help but feel her distress and determination for the truth. All supporting characters are rich with their own personalities and problems that are realistic and complex. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
